I began crocheting my first year after college. Everyone on my first job were crocheting and one of my coworkers taught me. I enjoy crocheting and have made numerous items. I have made potholders, baby blankets, booties, caps, candles, socks, dolls, etc. I shared my joy of crocheting and taught several people how to crochet. I also have an unfinished afghan that I intend to finish one day, maybe when I retire and have free time again.
There in no knitting/crocheting groups and with only a 30 minute lunch, it would be difficult to form one.

Crafts & Hobbies #65: Coin Collecting
I have several old coins that have been passed down from parents and grandparents. I was able to identify some of them on the Historical Image Library website.
I found a local coin dealer that is located on Richmond in Houston, Texas using the Professional Numismatists Guild's dealer search. I plan to visit there in the very near future. It will be interesting to find out if my coins have value.
I found this exercise on coin collecting interesting. I saw numerous commemorative coins that I did not know existed. I also saw the Bill of Rights Half Dollar (1993) and U. S. Olympic coins. Although I collected the 50 State Quarters, I do not consider myself a collector and it is not something that I will continue to do.

Crafts & Hobbies #64: Zines
When I first glanced at this assignment, I thought it was about "cut-and-paste" which is something that I have done a thousand times. The closest I have come to a Zine is helping my son do a travel magazine as a school project.
No, I know this is not something that I will do in the future.
Zines should be in the library because everyone likes something different and I am sure there is a Zine following of library users.

Crafts & Hobbies #62: Decoupage
Decoupage is fun and easy to do. My sister and I found a large wooden spool and decoupaged it and then put a round glass top over it and used it as a table for her patio. A friend of mine had his coffee table professionally decoupaged with pictures of his family, friends and vacations. I found an article about doing a kitchen backsplash that I will attempt to do in the next couple of months. It was just using cutouts of leaves of various shapes and sizes. This theme will work well in my kitchen that is being revamped. Wish me success.
